Thursday July 24th. It’s an incredible feeling not to be counting the days anymore. We are just on to a regular life. With only one visit to SCCA all week, we almost didn’t know what to do. Luckily, we found plenty of things to keep us busy. I worked every day. I still feel that I accomplished a lot when I would log in from home, but it was nice to be able to attend meetings and feel a part of the team. After work I was hardly home – I had two choir practices and two water aerobics classes. Ken filled his time with walks, trips to the grocery store, laundry and starting to organize our home office. That really filled up his week because he only lasts 15 – 20 minutes before it’s time to rest and catch his breath.
The clinic visit was pretty uneventful – yeah! Nothing had changed from the previous week so meds and activities stay the same. That also means the two hour a day IV meds stay – boo hoo. The doctor repeated again that boring is good. He also advised us that as good as things are going now, there may still rough times ahead. We will deal with any events as they come. While we were at the clinic we thought we would take a photo of the new sculpture across the way, in front of one of the Fred Hutch buildings. It was almost complete when the wind storm last fall blew it down. This time it has been reinforced and should withstand the weather. It’s made of metal tubes with small glass panels that catch the sunlight.
